Exploring themes of graphic art, nature, recycling and repurpose I use natural items & elements to create bold modern impact. It is my desire that the observer is initially struck by the visually graphic impact of the design but as they move closer to investigate they are also struck by masterful natural details & elements found in the materials used to create the piece. I carefully select natural pieces for my work and consider each of their natural design elements - texture, form, shape, color and pattern. My desire that each of these elements and their details are viewed in a new or modern way both from afar and up close. I strive to ethically source the raw materials that I use in my work .... whether it is wood from fallen trees or from antlers naturally shed by deer or elk, I like to using the often discarded or unused items from nature to give them new identity and purpose. In the fusion of these natural things, I seek to create a fresh modern graphic impact while at the same time illuminating the natural power and beauty of their original design.
My artwork is shown at Ellison-Valencia Gallery in Dallas, Tx and I work with design firms/designers to ship my work nationally to places like Big Sky, MT to Sante Fe, NM.
