Mike Klung began selling his art in the year 2000. Although having drawn and painted his whole life this was the year he got the courage to show it to the public. His mediums are acrylic on canvas, board and sheet metal. His style is recognizable yet quite different from piece to piece. Surreal Landscapes, Abstracts, Human Form and crosses are his main works.
Mike has shown and sold his art in galleries all over the country, Santa Fe, Vail, San Luis Obispo, Austin, Memphis, Art Expo NYC, New Orleans, Sandestin, Grayton Beach and of course Baton Rouge where he is a hometown favorite. His art has been featured in many magazines, and even a few movies and television shows. He travels and works with his greatest art critic his wife Shanna, whom he trust to give the final seal of approval on each piece.
Aside from his paintings Mike also uses his creativity on other artist endeavors. He dries leaves for months then hand paints, mounts and frames them. Also moulding intaglios, hand painting, mounting and framing them in various colors and textures. Antiquing mirrors is also a specialty.
We are thrilled to be able to be a part of the Arbors Antiques family for the past few years. Hopefully you will come see our space and find the perfect piece to add to your collection.
